Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before your dog's first visit. If your question isn't here, just ask.
Booking & the studio
Where is the grooming studio?
The studio is a private, appointment-only space at Elm Cottage, Chester Lane, Little Budworth, Cheshire CW7 2QJ, a short drive from Winsford, Tarporley, Northwich and Delamere.
How do I book a groom?
You can book online at any time through the booking page, or call Ella on 07503 122205. If it's your dog's first visit, or you'd like advice on which service to choose, just get in touch first.
How long does a groom take?
It depends on your dog's size, coat and condition. Most grooms take between one and a half and three hours. Ella will give you a collection time when you drop off, and nothing is ever rushed.
My dog is nervous. Can you still groom them?
Yes. Appointments are one-to-one in a calm, quiet studio, and Ella works at your dog's pace with breaks whenever they need them. Let her know about any worries when you book.
Do you groom puppies?
Yes. Puppies are welcome once they have completed their vaccinations. A first visit is kept short and positive, so your puppy gets used to the bath, dryer and table and grows up enjoying being groomed.
Prices & services
How much does dog grooming cost?
A Full Groom costs £33 for extra small and teacup dogs, up to £70 for extra large breeds. A Shampoo, Bath & Tidy starts at £22. Hand stripping is priced individually, and interim services such as nail trims start from £7.
What's included in a Full Groom?
A consultation and coat check, a shampoo and conditioning bath, blow-dry and brush-out, a full haircut in a breed-standard or bespoke style, nail trim, ear clean, hygiene trim and paw pad tidy.
How often should my dog be groomed?
Dogs with continuously growing coats, such as Poodles, Cockapoos, Shih Tzus and Bichons, are best groomed every four to eight weeks. Double-coated breeds benefit from a seasonal bath and de-shed. A Bath & Tidy between full grooms keeps everything fresh.
What is a Blueberry Facial?
A gentle, tear-free facial cleanse using a blueberry-based wash. It freshens the face and helps lift tear staining. It can be added to any groom for £5.
What happens if my dog's coat is matted?
Your dog's comfort always comes first. Light tangles can be brushed out, but heavy matting is painful to de-mat, so Ella may recommend clipping shorter and letting the coat grow back healthily. She'll always talk it through with you first.
Hand stripping
What is hand stripping?
Hand stripping removes dead outer coat by hand rather than cutting it. It keeps a wire coat's natural texture, colour and weather resistance, which clipping gradually softens and dulls.
Which breeds need hand stripping?
Wire-coated breeds such as Border Terriers, West Highland Terriers, Cairn Terriers, Wire Fox Terriers, Schnauzers, Airedales, Lakeland Terriers and Wire-haired Dachshunds. Some Spaniels also benefit from partial stripping.
How much does hand stripping cost?
Hand stripping is priced individually because time depends on the breed, coat condition and how recently it was last stripped. Get in touch for a bespoke quote.

Do you still offer dog walking?

A monthly membership at £150 a month that includes an 8-walk bank, a full groom every 8 weeks, priority scheduling and a direct line to Ella. Additional dogs from the same household are £75 a month.
